Tenant improvement for the high-end restaurant, Cantina Monarca, located in Bellevue’s Lincoln Square. Bayley worked closely with the architect to bring the owner’s vision of transporting customers straight into the jungles of Tulum, Mexico, to life. This restaurant is highlighted by shaped plaster and curved vines to emulate the Mayan jungle. The vines featured in the restaurant were imported from the Mayan Jungle, soaked in water for 4 hours, uncoiled, shaped, and doubled coated with fireproof paint before being placed throughout the space. The scope of work on this project included demolition of the existing space, HVAC system updates, and plumbing. This project came with inherent challenges to the fire and HVAC system due to the vines placed throughout the space. Lincoln Square’s occupied site
required Bayley to take extra precautions to ensure the visitor’s experience was not disrupted.
