This ground-up project constructed a two-story middle school featuring a mechanical mezzanine to accommodate 950 students. The 172,000 SF facility encompasses classrooms, administrative offices, two gymnasiums, two tech labs, six science labs, a multi-purpose room, library, and a cutting-edge football/soccer play field with a synthetic track. Additionally, a substantial distribution kitchen and a 3,200 SF walk-in freezer were constructed to facilitate food preparation and storage for the entire school district.
Our team erected a stormwater infiltration/detention vault measuring 276 feet by 16 feet by 19 feet. This vault, designed to hold up to 427,308 gallons pre-settling, was crucial in ensuring the preservation of the City of Seattle’s well water from contamination. Despite facing challenges, our team collaborated efficiently, completing the project in 14 months instead of the initially planned 18 months. This timely completion allowed students to commence the school year as scheduled in the fall.
