SEATTLE — As expected, Macy’s has sold the remaining, soon-to-be vacant bottom floors of its iconic full-block building at 300 Pine St.
Pacific Place, long a prominent shopping center of downtown Seattle, hit a milestone with its redevelopment project this week with the completion of its new entrance at Seventh Avenue and Olive Way. All are invited to an opening ceremony and ribbon cutting at Glacier Middle School on Thursday, Oct. 24, followed by a tour of the new school. This event will be held from 5 – 6:30 p.m. at the new school, located at 2450 South 142nd Street in SeaTac (map below).
Bayley is about to wrap up the remodel and expansion of the 12,500 SF George and Vi Wellik Wickenburg Community Services Center. The Center will replace the existing 6,400 SF facility. The center will house the CAP office, Wise Owl Senior Center, home delivery meals, food bank, mobile food pantry, and the Freedom Express senior transportation program under one roof. This centralized location for senior services will significantly increase WCSC and the Foundation for Senior Living’s ability to provide services to Wickenburg’s rapidly growing senior population.
Construction has started at Bayley's newest project in Suncadia. The 13,900 SF wood framed Great House at Tumble Creek is intended to be the central hub of the Tumble Creek Community. The building includes a Dining Room and Bar with outdoor patio overlooking the 18th green which is 75’ below in the valley. Amenities on the main level includes Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms and Lounges, and Golf Simulator. The basement is a family entertainment center with Bowling Alley, Game Room, Craft Room and Media Room. The interior décor includes high exposed wood ceilings and wood paneling giving it the mountain lodge look. This project is scheduled to be completed in December of 2020.
The Bayley team is hard at work at one of Seattle’s largest architecture firms, CallisonRTKL, currently undergoing a year long office renovation to better reflect the culture and brand of the company and to improve employees health and well being. The scope of work for this project includes the tenant improvement on two floors within a 44-story multi-tenant building. Interior work includes non-structural partitions, fixtures, ceiling, HVAC and finishes.
The Grand Opening of Glacier Middle School with be October 24th. Bayley has been hard at work wrapping up this project for the beginning of the 2019/2020 school year. This ground up project included a new 172,000 SF - 2 story building with a Mechanical Mezzanine. Classrooms, Administration, 2 Gymnasiums, Multi-purpose room, Library, Kitchen, and a state-of-the-art Football/Soccer play field with synthetic track.
Bayley joins the list of top General Contractors to be Salmon-Safe Accredited in Washington1/9/2019
Bayley Construction is now an accredited Salmon Safe Contractor, one of only seven leading contractors in the state of Washington to achieve this certification.
Salmon-Safe's accreditation is the Nation's first independent accreditation program to recognize construction professionals' excellence in water quality projection practices. As a practice-based approach, Salmon-Safe accreditation for construction companies is engaging the Northwest’s leading contractors in consistently applying best construction site management practices with the goal of achieving zero sediment runoff across their entire operation. Shell and core construction of a new 4-story, 450,000 SF center located in the Wilburton neighborhood of Bellevue. When complete, it will house a Virginia Mason Medical Clinic, Dave and Buster’s Restaurant, Target, PCC, and various other tenants. Unique aspects of this project include a permanent shotcrete retaining wall with an architectural finish resembling a granite wall, an architectural shear wall prominently located at the west face of the building, 4 placing booms to pour the elevated post-tensioned slabs and a total concrete yardage exceeding 25,000 cubic yards.
Developer KG Investment Properties broke ground on the second phase of the Bellevue retail complex in April. PCC will take 26,600 square feet on the ground floor of the four-story project. Other anchor tenants include Target, Dave & Busters and Virgina Mason. MG2 is designing Wilburton Village, and Bayley Construction is the general contractor. Both firms were on the team for both phases of the development.
The Westlake Center second-floor food court remodel was a small part of a dramatic update to the four-story shopping center in the heart of downtown Seattle.
300 Pine, the downtown Macy's Building, is now being renovated by Starwood Capital Group for Amazon. CallisonRTKL, Bayley and KPFF are on that project, which has around 470,000 square feet of offices on the top six floors.
